“Plan Your Solo” is an immersive 10-month course designed to guide artists through the comprehensive process of planning and executing a successful solo exhibition. With monthly online meetings, this course provides structured support and actionable steps to help you conceptualize, organize, and present your solo show with confidence and professionalism.

Duration: 10 Months
Cost: R800 / €80 per month
Format: Monthly Online Meetings (2 hours each) plus assignments
Each lesson starts with a feedback session where participants receive constructive critiques on the artworks created since the previous month

This course is designed to share these insights, guiding you through every step of creating a solo exhibition with confidence. Course Outline
Before the course begins you will be required to submit your current work. Once enrolled in the course you will be given the instructions and submit the drawings to Amy Jane van den Bergh.
Month 1: Your North Star and Vision Setting
Define your artistic vision and objectives for your solo exhibition.
Month 2: The Planning Phase
Develop the exhibition theme, subject, theory, color palette, style, number of works, medium(s) and initial sketches. Identify key players involved in the process.
Month 3: The Research Document
Create a comprehensive research document to support and refine your exhibition concept.
Month 4: The Venue and Opening Event
Select and secure a venue. Plan the opening event, including logistics and engagement strategies.
Month 5: Your Unique Marketing Plan
Develop a tailored marketing plan to promote your exhibition effectively.
Month 6: Presentation and Installation
Plan and execute the presentation and installation of your artworks.
Month 7: The Artist Statement
Craft a compelling artist statement to articulate your vision and the themes of your exhibition.
Month 8: The Press Release
Write and distribute a press release to generate media coverage and public interest.
Month 9: Deep Critique Session
Participate in a comprehensive critique session to evaluate and refine your exhibition plans and artworks.
Month 10: Artwork Selection and Curation
Finalise the selection and curation of artworks for the exhibition, ensuring a cohesive presentation
