A Q&A guide to turning your artwork into digital prints.
What kind of printer and quality settings should I be using to scan my work and what must I save the scan as? 300dpi minimum, tif or PDF is usually okay, JPEG can work as long as the resolution is high enough. You will also need to be aware that if you scan/ digitise it yourself then we have no control over the output colour of the prints, whereas if you send the artwork directly to us then we can colour match if needs be.
If I'm not in Pretoria or Cape Town, can an option be to courier my art to you to scan and print? And then courier back to myself. If so, how much would you charge for that? Yes, we can definitely do that. What some of my artists do is that they courier to us via The Courier Guy and then once all is done, we give them package dimensions and then they organise the courier back to themselves. It’s cheaper this way as we usually use MDS Collivery, and they are very pricey and depend on where the address is. What paper should I be printing print on?
Inkjet - True Matte Hi-White, Felix Schoeller True Fibre and then Ilford Fine Textured Silk
Press - Munken Polar, Fedrigoni Tintoretto Gesso and then Mohawk Superfine Eggshell Ultra White
Okay I am ready! Who can I contact?
